For the technical challenge, set by Paul, the bakers were asked to bake in two and a half hours a gala pie with piccalilli. For the showstopper challenge, the bakers were given four hours to make their own visually stunning sculpted tart.

In the showstopper, they produce a macaron sculpture that depicts something meaningful to them, before judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood decide who will be going through to the final.
