THE RACE is entering its second season. After the success of Season 1, the next adventure is just around the corner. In the fourth episode of THE RACE, the participants struggle with the aftermath of the night, because it couldn't have been more different. The five candidates work meticulously on their plan to reach the next big city. But for that they need one thing: money. The differences between joy and sorrow couldn't be greater until one candidate pulls the ripcord and makes a momentous decision.

After night number two, the candidates start the day with new motivation. But as always, the weather makes life difficult for some candidates and drives them to the brink of despair. You still keep moving until a participant's emergency phone suddenly rings.

The participants continue to fight bravely from city to city, always with the goal in mind. Despite the rain clouds, the mood is still high. But while the other participants are looking for a place to sleep, a lack of attention forces one participant to make an emotional decision.

The shock after the departure is deep. However, the other participants don't know anything about it and are heading for France. The day offers more surprises for them and gives them a little time for relaxation after a lot of hectic and rain. But how quickly will their smiles disappear again?

Participants take every opportunity to make up kilometers. New contacts provide a brief moment of serenity. But the uncertainty about the other participants drives them further and further towards Cologne. So much so that suddenly a participant can dream of victory.

The grand finale of "THE RACE". The fifth day should make the decision. Until the very end, the two candidates were in a close, neck-and-neck race. Will one of them be crowned the winner of "THE RACE" or will a smiling third party win in the end?

To find out where their journey will take them, the participants have to puzzle their way through the urban jungle of Paris. Each of the contestants struggles with the puzzle in Paris to be the first to discover the destination for THE RACE season 2 and gain a valuable head start. They rattle off location after location, but one of the four riddles brings some of the contestants to the brink of despair. When the participants finally find out where the journey is taking them, they are left speechless.

The riddle has been solved and the destination of THE RACE season 2 has been set. 3,500km now separate the candidates from the coveted finish buzzer in Turkey. Will this pay off in the end? The second night is also just around the corner and once again requires creativity from all the candidates to find a safe place to sleep.

Day three of THE RACE season 2 begins and proves to be a tough test of patience for some participants. While some cross more national borders, others struggle with the harsh reality: hours of rejections, skeptical looks and euphoria that quickly turns to bitterness. Who remains positive and waits for that one important trip?

The participants of THE RACE are only as good as the people who help them. Participants battle their way toward the finish line on a variety of paths and meet people who would significantly change their journeys. So much so that their help even brings tears to their eyes. Furthermore, the fourth night is approaching, and suddenly, one participant is offered a very special place to sleep.

Day four of THE RACE and the mood of the participants could hardly be better in the morning. But the mood changes. One wrong decision can mean that you quickly fall behind and start to doubt everything.

The tough everyday life of THE RACE puts a strain on the nerves of the participants. Not knowing where the others are keeps everyone on their toes. While some experience success, others struggle with their mental health.

The participants are rapidly approaching the finish line of THE RACE. While most of them make their way from border to border in the traditional way, one participant finds a vehicle that nobody expected.

THE RACE is entering the hot phase. All participants use every possible opportunity to get to Turkey as quickly as possible. But some have something against it: there is an unexpected visit from the police.

After the first person has crossed the finish line, the remaining participants are informed by the team and react very differently to the news. Who will cross the finish line next?

Before the main event kicks off, five wildcard candidates will compete for a spot in the main race – one of the new features in season 3. To participate, they must first prove themselves in a separate challenge – a kind of mini-version of "The Race." The goal is to reach five landmarks across Germany as quickly as possible. Not just one person qualifies – the two best participants will jointly secure a ticket for "The Race" season 3 and compete as a wildcard team.

The challenge gets personal: Jerry gets a sofa offer with shortcut options, but rules are rules. Kodiak collects stamps and continues his journey to Berlin. Taube meets a real lucky charm on the train, Käthe lands warm and safe with Grandma's connection, and Marc relentlessly carries out his plan: fare evasion, onward travel, stamps!

A day like a plot twist: Jerry finally gets his momentum and gets double the stamp. Kodiak gets the ticket money at the last second – straight out of a movie! Taube, as always, spreads good vibes, gives things away, and sleeps in the woods like a true adventurer. Käthe is completely offline. Marc, on the other hand: party spawn, then a Flixbus sneak peek and more stamps.

Now only one thing matters: Finish mode. Jerry keeps collecting money and stamping his ticket in Cologne. Kodiak takes the risky route, rides the train without a ticket, and completes the speedrun perfectly. Taube chases after him, Käthe struggles with her overactive imagination and a comeback, Marc wants to go to Munich and starts an extra challenge. Final energy: Who will break first, who will stamp their ticket last?

Final leg: no more excuses. Jerry is giving it his all to get to Munich on time. Taube miscalculates the coordinates, goes the wrong way, but still makes it to the finish. Käthe gets her card stamped, is running late, but keeps going anyway. Marc persevered and stamps his card for good. Who will win second place?

Hanoi, starting signal: Dave hands each team two scrolls, but no destination, only Vietnamese. Coordinates or a complete bluff? Without money, without cell phones, with only the bare necessities, teamwork now counts in the urban chaos. JP and Essow puzzle over it, the others push forward – who will crack the code first and set the tone for Vietnam?

The chaos of Hanoi puts the teams to the test. They first have to earn their budget for the next leg of their journey. Amidst sputtering mopeds and street food stalls, they collect donations. But the clock is ticking: Who will be the fastest to escape the city's labyrinth and find their way towards the Laotian border? The race against time – and the competition – begins.

A sense of anticipation fills the air as all the teams embark on the long journey to Laos. While their competitors try to recharge in sleeper buses, Essow and JP prefer to use their last night in Hanoi for one last big celebration. But unexpected problems await them at the border crossing into Laos, threatening to derail their onward journey.
